Chick-A-Dee Cafe in Topeka

Good food and friendly servers I love this place.

This place was recommended to us by some locals and they didn't lead us wrong. From the outside it almost looks like it used to be a house, but the food is actually quite good. Our server, Carly, was friendly and professional. No complaints at all about her or the food. It's a little tight with a wheelchair, but definitely doable.

Small and cozy "grandma's kitchen" type of cafe, made me feel really welcome and at home. Food was a little on the plain side but still delicious and filling as well! Will definitely return and try more of the menu! Decent prices, filling meals and friendly service? What more could I ask for ^~^

Friendly place to sit and eat with friends and family . I've always came hungry, But I've never left hungry.Also, they are not as concerned with masks as some places that I won't mention here. Kudos for that . Chick~a~dee Cafe

This is a nice little cafè. They make really good food, and have daily specials but....1.They close earlier than most resterant's.2. The staff gets a little testy if you get there late, as they're trying to clean up and go home. And...3. While the food IS really good, it lacks some of the really distinct flavor that I would expect. It's a little bland.However, I've always had great service, enjoyed the food, and walked away full so most things can be forgiven.If you give them a try, you won't walk completely satisfied, but you won't walk away hungry either!

Have stopped to get lunch several times in the last 6 or 8 years when I am passing through. I have always had sandwich, burgers or a tenderloin and it was always really good. Place isn't fancy by any means but the service is always good and very friendly.

Friendly service with great food and friendly pricing. Sorry about the half-eaten pie, the photo was an afterthought. Delightful, light and chocolate slice, best I've in a long time.

Food was good. Service could have been better. 3 of the people sat down after us were served first and took a while because the waitresses knew them.

All right! Let it be bluntly stated that the Chickadee (or Chick-a-Dee, as they spell it) is not the Ritz of London or Paris. It's a humble, simple, down-home establishment with nary a frill. That stated, I absolutely love the place. Only the fact that I live on the opposite side of Topeka prevents me from being a regular customer.Unlike a few complainers, I feel that the cafe is quite clean. They have regular weekend closings for in-depth cleaning. Admittedly, it's not a fancy place, but I don't visit there for environmental beauty. I go for the food, and I'm never disappointed.

Always great service and food...

Today was the first time I visited Chic A Dee restaurant. I had been told about the cinnamon rolls there and I was really interested in getting some for the family. I was really impressed with the size of them and how good they were. I ordered a dozen to take home and the family all loved them. I for both vanilla and make flavors. Although you can't go wrong with either choice my preference is the maple. They were fantastic. The staff there are all really friendly and helpful. It definitely has the feel of a family restaurant and you can tell they care about their customers. I look forward to going back and trying some of their other items, particularly chicken fried steak. I definitely recommend this place.

If you like liver and onions. It's a good place to get it. I don't live in Topeka but I make the drive there to get it.

The food is what you would expect from your typical American dinner. Freshly made comfort food...yum! The service was outstanding and very welcoming to all. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars... the atmosphere. It really needs a makeover but just a deep cleaning would help tremendously.

Not bad, not great. Everything was edible but kind of plain and unspectacular. We had the meatloaf and the chicken fried steak.

Great food friendly staff

Breakfast is always good. However i ordered steaks tonight. Ribeye. Wasnt a ribeye in was a tought strip. Salad was not salad it was chopped up lettuce. Im so disappointed my steak was so dry and not easy to eat. I know the difference between a ribeye and a ny strip chicken frien chicken was fake. Get help

The wife and I had the liver and onions, very flavorful and tender. Great portion size also with mashed potatoes and corn on the cob. This was our fifth visit there in the last two weeks. Love their chicken fried steak and fried chicken also.

This place is a throw back to the good old days of going out and eating breakfast on a Saturday morning or Sunday after early church. There is nothing modern about this place, just good food and a GREAT wait staff.

Was so happy you're still open! When in Topeka for a family reunion last Sept. a large group of us met for breakfast before heading home. Like we have done for at least 20 years. My family there are regulars. Love your breakfasts!!!@!

Nice little locally owned Cafe with decent food and great service. The staff are attentive, friendly and pleasant. You can tell it's a neighborhood cafe by all the regulars and is a quaint little hidden gem you should visit because there is very seldom a wait and always a friendly smile, with some freshly cooked food to make your day.

Good food and service at a reasonable price.

The servers are rude and my drink sat empty for 7 minuets before I had to stop and ask someone else who wasn't even my waitress to get me another drink. Also noticed while I was here if you have a child you will get better service but if not your sol. Sat for at least 35 min and still didn't receive are food nor seen our waitress so we left.
